Night Light
The story behind the newsletter

When I got home from the hospital after birthing my son, I wanted to sleep with a night light. Our apartment in Brooklyn was so small, and in the corner of our bedroom was a step up to a doorway into another tiny, almost uselessly small, room. On the windowsill in that room I put a small Himalayan salt lamp and its gentle, pinkish light would seep into my bedroom. That light became my anchor for weeks.
